Who Cares

No more politics for awhile, it effects my Blood Pressure.

I saw a Robin today (in the snow).

Back in the late "nineteen thirties" all the guys from my corner would take the Subway from Cambridge into Boston to see the "Big Bands" play at the old RKO Theatre, usually when we skipped school, or sometimes we would ride the subway's just to raise hell and bother people. Filenes Basement was a great place to stir up some trouble.

We used to go to Filenes Basement after a show and watch the women try on dresses. Soon one of us would try on a dress, then we would get kicked out.

As we stood on the Subway platform waiting for the train, we had one kid that had a joke that he repeated everytime he was in the Subway, he did this for as long as I knew him.

He would wait for just the right moment when we were all silent, then he would say, "There's No Horse Shit In The Subway". He would be the only one that laughed.
(Horse and wagons were still a common site on city streets during the Thirties)
